This blog contains photographs, genealogy, history, illustrations or cartoons and narratives (or rants, if you wish) of my own experiences as a gay man with parents and family, in segregated/racist schools, in the US Army, at the workplace, in a sexist and homophobic Chicano activist culture and includes Hate Crime Review and Parody, an illustrated print-zine. We are the Hierro-Olarte, and arrived in Nueva Vizcaya circa 1600 with the new governor Gaspar Alvear de Salazar as "familia, ayudantes y pobladores," while our cousin Francisco Maldonado Dorado del Hierro opted for Venezuela with horses, weapons and soldiers of his own, arriving with the German also-wannabe conquistador Speyer, representing the interests of the Welsers, a banking family.
